Happy New Year to everyone!
2017 was a busy, exciting and productive year for me, and I'm really pleased with how my photography progressed. I was proud to get my first AG Nature Photographer of the year image, after many attempts, and I'm already aiming to get more in this year's competition. I travelled lots for my PhD fieldwork, saw heaps of cool orchids, and got a few photos along the way.
But the biggest highlight was reserved for the last month, when I stood on Campbell Island in the middle of the Southern Ocean, watching the incredibly graceful Southern Royal Albatross displaying to each other. I'd been waiting for this moment for 8 years, and I feel immensely privileged to have witnessed such a special place.
I'm slowly making my way through some of the other images from my trip, but with 11,000 photos its going to take some time...I promise I'll put up some megaherb and penguin photos soon.
Thanks to everyone who liked, commented and shared my images over the past year, I am very grateful for the support. Here's to an even more amazing 2018!
